Cornish Showcase - Cuttlefish

As promised we are featuring some home grown specimen to wet your underwater appetites The first of our Cornish Showcase is this cute little cuttlefish spotted just off Lamorna by FOTW friends Gareth and Katy. Thanks guys for the photos.

If you are tempted to visit Cornwall, FOTW can recommend Coast to Coast (BBC Radio Cornwall Monday to Friday 6am until 9am) for all your local news and events. An excellent listen I am reliably informed.

Scorpianfish

Further to previous claims of dwindling fish stocks at FOTW this one has been dug out of the archives. FOTW can also announce a forthcoming Cornwall showcase including some wonderful creatures spotted just off our own sub tropical (well....) coast line. Watch this space.

Blue Tit

Strictly speaking not a fish but I have seen one or two blue tits following long dives in colder waters. This one however was spotted recently in land locked Leeds in our garden. Unlike many of the wild life feature on FOTW it spends very little time underwater. You will not have seen one of these in the Red Sea.

FOTW Wine Correspondent Completes Mablethorpe Marathon

FOTW can reveal that John, FOTW's wine correspondent successfully completed the Mablethorpe Marathon in a semi decent time for a 40 something wine sleuth. John's time was 4 hours 33 minutes and 35 seconds. In completing the race John earned lots of money (mainly mine) for a local Wakefield Charity for re-educating recovering drug addicts. Well done John, perhaps now you can get on and write some wine reports for FOTW.

FOTW Wheels come off

FOTW sadly reports that due to pressure of work the FOTW team will not be able to make its annual pilgrimage to the Red Sea this year to collect fish photos for your delight. Even though extensive planning attempts were made to find suitable windows in busy schedules no windows remain open. The editorial board will be reviewing suggestions for future content in the next couple of weeks. We can however confirm that FOTW will not be renamed FOTY to reflect the enevitable slow down in picture content likly as a result of the cancelled dive sortee. Watch this space...... especially for fish.
